The Short Version (for kids and busy parents)
- We made Nethercon fun to play. We do not collect your name, email, age, photo, or any information about who you are.
- We do not track you. No advertising companies, no analytics, no cookies that follow you around the internet. Nethercon itself sets no cookies.
- The game remembers your progress — and which articles you have read — only on your own device (like a save file in your browser). It never leaves your device and never comes to us.
- There are no ads on Nethercon at all. We don't sell or share your information — because we don't have any.
- If you're a parent and you have a question, email a real person at [email protected].
That's it. The rest of this page explains the same thing in the detail the law asks for.
1. Who We Are
Nethercon (nethercon.com) is a website made for kids — roughly ages 8 to 13 — offering free articles, bedtime audio stories, and a browser game. It is operated by BRICK30 TECHNOLOGIES, LLC ("Nethercon," "we," "us," or "our"). We are the operator responsible for this website under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and its rule (16 C.F.R. Part 312).

If more than one operator collects information through this site, we will list each one here. At present, BRICK30 TECHNOLOGIES, LLC is the sole operator, and no operator collects personal information through this site.
We are a United States company based in Minnesota, and this policy is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA. That does not take away any right you or your child have under COPPA, the GDPR or UK GDPR, or a U.S. state privacy law — those rights are described below and we honor them wherever you are.
2. Our Approach: Collect Nothing We Don't Need
Nethercon is built on data minimization. The simplest way to protect children's privacy is to not collect their personal information in the first place — so that's what we do. This isn't a promise we ask you to take on faith; it's how the site is engineered. There are no accounts, no logins, no comments, no newsletter sign-up, no contact forms, and no uploads anywhere on Nethercon.
3. Direct Notice — What We Do and Do Not Collect (COPPA § 312.4)
This section is our COPPA direct notice to parents. It tells you exactly what happens with information on Nethercon.
3.1 Information we collect from children: None.
We do not collect, use, or disclose any "personal information" as defined by COPPA from children. Specifically, we do not collect:
- First or last name
- Home or other physical address
- Email address or other online contact information
- Telephone number
- Social Security number or any government identifier
- A screen name or username that functions as online contact information
- Photos, videos, or audio containing a child's image or voice
- Geolocation information sufficient to identify a street name and city/town
- Persistent identifiers (such as cookies, device IDs, or advertising IDs) used to track a child across websites or over time
- Any information about the child combined with any of the identifiers above
We do not have accounts, logins, sign-up forms, comment fields, chat, uploads, or contact forms directed to children. There is no mechanism on the site through which a child can hand us personal information.
3.2 What the site does store — and why it isn't personal information
To make the game playable, Nethercon saves your game state (things like your progress, level, score, and settings) using first-party browser localStorage, plus a small number of short-lived sessionStorage entries: one named ncw.cine that remembers whether you have already watched an intro animation during this browser session, and one named nethercon.v2.resumeDismissed that remembers you closed the "resume your game" prompt so it stops reappearing.
Everything the site stores on your device is saved under the nethercon.v2. name prefix, apart from the one older item named ncw.cine. The table below describes the main entries rather than every single one.

We want to be plain about that reading log, because "game save" undersells it: it is a reading history of this site, kept in your own browser. It is what lets the game award points for reading and pick up where you left off.
- This data stays on your own device, in your own browser. It is first-party only.
- It never transmits to us and never goes to any third party. We cannot see it.
- It contains no personal information — no name, no identifiers, nothing that could identify a person. It's the digital equivalent of a save slot.
- You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for nethercon.com (see Section 6).
Because this information is not personal information and never leaves the device, it is not "collection" of personal information under COPPA.
3.3 No cookies of our own, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking
- Nethercon itself sets no cookies. We do not set any cookie of our own, first-party or third-party. The one thing outside our control is Cloudflare, the service that delivers and protects this site: it may set a short-lived security cookie to tell real visitors apart from automated attacks. We do not read it, and it is not used for advertising or to build a profile of anyone. Everything the site itself needs to remember lives in the browser storage described above, which is not a cookie and never leaves your device.
- No cookie-consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to. A CookieYes consent banner used to run on this site. It was removed on July 30, 2026. If your browser still holds a leftover consent cookie from a visit before that date, we actively expire it when you arrive.
- No analytics. We want to be straightforward rather than pretend we were always this clean: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager were previously installed on Nethercon. They were removed on July 13, 2026, and the analytics output of the remaining Site Kit plugin is suppressed. No analytics, measurement, or usage-tracking product runs on this site today, and we do not profile or measure individual users.
- No advertising of any kind. Nethercon carries no ads, no ad tags, and no ad networks, and therefore no behavioral or targeted advertising.
- No third-party requests. Every font and every JavaScript library the site uses is served from nethercon.com itself — the Press Start 2P, Fraunces, Hanken Grotesk, and VT323 fonts, and the GSAP, ScrollTrigger, Howler, and Three.js libraries. Loading a page on Nethercon does not silently send your device's information to a font provider, a script CDN, or anyone else.
3.4 Hosting, and the connection data our servers unavoidably see
Nethercon is operated from the United States by a Minnesota company, and the site is delivered through Cloudflare's global network. Connection data such as an IP address may therefore be processed on servers outside the EEA and the UK, including in the United States, purely to deliver and protect the site. Like every website on the internet, our web server and Cloudflare's network have to see the technical details of a connection in order to send you the page and to keep the site up: things like your device's IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. This happens at the network level, before any part of Nethercon's own code runs.
We are telling you this rather than claiming that literally nothing is processed, because that would not be true of any website. Here is what we do with it:
- It is used only to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (for example, blocking attacks and bad traffic).
- It is kept only in standard web-server and CDN logs, which are retained for a limited period under our host's and Cloudflare's normal log-retention practices. It is not moved into any database of ours and not enriched.
- It is never used to profile, identify, target, or build a record of a child, and it is never combined with the game data on your device.
- It is not sold, rented, shared, or handed to advertisers.
3.5 No disclosure to third parties
Because we collect no personal information, we have nothing to disclose, sell, rent, or share with third parties, and we do not do so.
3.6 Why no verifiable parental consent (VPC) is required
COPPA requires an operator to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13. Nethercon does not collect personal information from anyone, so no verifiable parental consent is required or requested. If we ever change this and begin collecting personal information from children, we will first update this notice and obtain verifiable parental consent as COPPA requires.
4. Parental Rights (COPPA)
Even though we don't collect your child's personal information, parents and legal guardians always have the right to:
- Ask what, if anything, we have relating to your child. (Our answer will be: we hold no personal information about your child.)
- Review any personal information we might hold.
- Direct us to delete any such information and refuse to allow further collection.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. Because we maintain no personal information and no child accounts, there is typically nothing for us to look up, correct, or delete on our servers — but we will respond to every request and confirm this to you. We may ask you to provide enough detail for us to respond meaningfully, and we will not require more information than necessary.
5. GDPR & GDPR-K — Notice for Children and Parents in the EU/EEA and UK
If you use Nethercon from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the following applies under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, including their heightened protections for children ("GDPR-K").

We are a small United States company with no office, branch, or other establishment in the EU, the EEA, or the UK. We have not appointed an EU/UK representative or a Data Protection Officer. Privacy questions and requests from anywhere in the world, including the EEA and the UK, go straight to [email protected] and are answered by a person at the company.
5.2 What personal data we process
We do not process personal data of visitors, including children. We do not collect names, emails, accounts, or identifiers, and we do not profile or track visitors. Game state stays on the user's device in first-party localStorage and is not transmitted to us.
Our web server and our CDN (Cloudflare) do process technical connection data such as IP address, but only to the minimal extent inherent in delivering any web page and defending it against abuse, as described in Section 3.4. It is held in standard server and CDN logs, retained for a limited period under our host's and Cloudflare's normal log-retention practices, is not used to identify, profile, or track children, and is not used for any other purpose.
5.3 Lawful basis
To the limited extent any technical data is processed to deliver and secure the website, our lawful basis is legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in operating a functioning, secure website — an interest we have balanced against, and which does not override, the rights of children. We do not rely on consent to track, because we do not track. We do not process special-category data, and we do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling.
5.4 High-privacy defaults for children
Consistent with GDPR-K and guidance such as the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, Nethercon is designed with privacy-protective settings on by default: no tracking, no profiling, no behavioral advertising, no third-party data sharing, no unnecessary data collection, and no nudges to lower privacy. Privacy protection is built in, not opt-in.
5.5 Your rights in the EU/EEA and UK
You (and a parent or guardian acting for a child) have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Because we hold essentially no personal data, most requests will be answered by confirming that we have nothing to provide, correct, or delete. To exercise any right, email [email protected].
5.6 International transfers
Nethercon is operated from the United States by a Minnesota company, and the site is delivered through Cloudflare's global network. Connection data such as an IP address may therefore be processed on servers outside the EEA and the UK, including in the United States, purely to deliver and protect the site. Because we do not collect personal data from users, there is no routine transfer of user personal data out of the EEA or the UK. The only data that crosses a border is the technical connection data described in Section 3.4, which is inherent in requesting a page from a website operated from outside Europe, is used solely to deliver and protect the site, and is held in logs kept for a limited period.
6. U.S. State Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA and Similar Laws)
This section applies to residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws.
6.1 We do not sell or share personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not have the personal information to sell or share, and we would not do so if we did. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond what is permitted without a right to limit.
6.2 What we collect
Nethercon does not currently collect personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA. Until July 13, 2026, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager ran on this site and collected IP addresses and analytics identifiers, which those laws may treat as personal information. Those tools were removed on that date and nothing has been collected since. We have never sold or shared that data. Game state stays on the user's own device and is not collected by us.
6.3 Your rights
To the extent any state law applies, residents generally have the right to know/access, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, and limit use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not collect, sell, or share personal information, there is typically nothing to access, delete, or opt out of — but you may still contact us at [email protected], and we will respond. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
6.4 Minors under 16
California law requires opt-in consent before selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16. We do not sell or share anyone's personal information, so this does not occur. That includes the analytics data described in Section 6.2, which was never sold or shared.
6.5 Clearing the game data on your device
The game save described in Section 3.2 lives on your device, not ours, so you erase it yourself and it is gone immediately. In your browser's settings, clear cookies and site data for nethercon.com — or use your browser's "clear browsing data" option. This deletes your game progress along with everything else the site stored locally, and there is no copy of it anywhere else.
7. Security
Because we don't collect or store personal information about our users, there is no personal-information database to be breached. We still maintain reasonable technical safeguards for the website itself: the site is served over encrypted HTTPS connections, it sits behind Cloudflare for protection against attacks and abusive traffic, and every asset it loads — fonts, scripts, audio — is hosted by us rather than pulled from a third party.
8. Third-Party Content and Links
Nethercon embeds no third-party content. There are no ads, no ad tags, no social-media widgets or share buttons, no embedded video or audio players from other services, no third-party fonts, no comment systems, and no script CDNs. Every font, script, image, and audio file is served from nethercon.com, which is why visiting the site makes no requests to anyone but us.
Nethercon may still link out to other websites (for example, community or reference sites). Following a link takes you somewhere we do not control, and this policy does not apply once you leave. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we change how Nethercon handles information — especially if we ever begin collecting any personal information — we will update this page, change the "Last updated" date, and, where the law requires (including COPPA's parental-consent requirements), provide direct notice and obtain consent before the change takes effect.
